What we keep, why we keep it, and what we will never do with it.
Scalar Flower Astrology exists to read the field. We collect only what is needed to compute that reading and to keep your account working. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do not run advertising on this site. We do not embed advertising or cross-site tracking pixels. The only measurement we run is cookieless, aggregate, and described in full below.
To cast your chart, you submit a name, date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. This is the raw material of the reading itself. We store it in our database so that:

We send marketing email only if you explicitly subscribe to an optional list, the Field Letter or the Daily Flower. Each is a separate, affirmative opt-in, never bundled with a purchase or a reading, and every message carries a one-click unsubscribe. If you never subscribe, you receive only the transactional email above.
Payments are processed by Shopify. We never see or store your card number, expiration date, or CVV. We receive from Shopify only: the order identifier, the product purchased, the email used at checkout, and the order status.
Your birth data is used only to compute your chart and your readings. The Scalar Flower computation runs on our private server and the result is delivered to you through your signed-in session. We do not aggregate your birth data with anyone else's.
To write the reading itself, the computed geometry and the reading prompt are sent to an external AI language-model provider (currently OpenRouter, routing to Anthropic's Claude). Your name, exact birthplace, and coordinates are not required to generate the prose and we do not rely on that provider retaining anything.
We do keep a research corpus to improve the quality of readings over time. Before any reading enters it, we strip the identifying fields, your name, birthplace, latitude, longitude, and birth date and time, and remove your name from the reading text. Only the de-identified structural geometry and the resulting prose are retained. We do not train any model on your identity or on data that could be traced back to you.
Your account and entitlement data are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database (an SQLite-compatible edge database). Your reading PDFs are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. The public Scalar Flower site is served from Cloudflare Pages. The private chart-computation server runs on Railway.
We use a single first-party cookie for session authentication. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising or cross-site tracking network.
For basic traffic measurement we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-respecting, cookieless tool. It records aggregate pageviews and page-load speed. It sets no cookie, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you across other sites. Visitors in the European Union are excluded from this measurement entirely. Server logs (which contain your IP address) are retained for 30 days for abuse-prevention and then deleted.

The Scalar Flower service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect birth data for children under 13. If a parent or guardian has submitted a minor's chart and wishes it removed, contact us.
If we change this policy in a material way, we will note the change on the homepage with a one-paragraph summary, and update the date below. We will not silently expand what we collect.
